Soybean Meal Exporter from India
Indian soybean de-oiled cake (DOC) — non-GMO origin, 46–48% protein, bagged or bulk.
Quick answer: Green Plus EXIM exports Indian soybean meal (de-oiled cake), typically 46–48% crude protein, from solvent-extraction plants in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. India's soybean crop is non-GMO, which is the main reason European feed buyers source here despite higher prices than South American origins. Germany, France, Nepal, Bangladesh and Kenya are the leading destinations. Packed in 25–50kg bags or jumbo bags.
Indian soybean meal (de-oiled cake)
Soybean meal is the protein backbone of most commercial poultry, aqua and dairy feed formulations. India's position in this trade is specific and worth understanding as a buyer: Indian meal generally costs more than Brazilian, Argentine or US product, and buyers choose it anyway for one of two reasons — non-GMO status, or freight advantage into South Asia, East Africa and parts of the Gulf.
We supply 46% and 48% minimum protein solvent-extracted meal from plants in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan, bagged or in jumbo bags.
Why does non-GMO status matter?
India does not permit commercial cultivation of genetically modified soybean, so Indian soybean meal is conventional by origin rather than by certification scheme. For European feed buyers serving non-GMO-labelled meat, poultry and dairy supply chains, that origin characteristic is the reason to look at India at all — it's a structural advantage no amount of price competition from South America changes.
We can supply a non-GMO declaration with shipments. Note that this is a statement about Indian soybean cultivation, not a certification claim under any particular scheme — if your buyer requires a specific certification standard, tell us up front so we can be honest about whether we can meet it.
What should I specify on a soybean meal order?
- Crude protein minimum — 46% or 48%, and whether on a dry or as-is basis.
- Moisture maximum — typically ≤12%. Higher moisture is both a weight and a storage-stability issue.
- Sand/silica maximum — typically ≤2%. This is the adulteration parameter to watch on cheap offers.
- Urease activity — indicates proper heat treatment during processing; under-processed meal contains anti-nutritional factors, over-processed meal has reduced protein digestibility.
- Packing — 25/40/50kg bags, jumbo bags, or bulk, depending on your mill's intake handling.
Which markets buy Indian soybean meal?
Germany, France, Nepal, Bangladesh and Kenya were India's top five destinations in the most recent marketing year reported, together accounting for roughly 55% of export volume — Europe for the non-GMO reason, and Nepal, Bangladesh and Kenya largely for freight and proximity. The table below gives the source and notes what the data does and doesn't break out.

Soybean meal export pricing
Indian soybean meal pricing tracks the domestic soybean crush margin, the global soy complex, and how competitive Indian meal is against South American origins in any given month — export volumes fall sharply in years when Indian meal prices out of the market. Notes on this data
Replaces an earlier dataset (SOPA OMY2024-25 ranking via Outlook Business) that named Germany among India's top-5 soybean-meal destinations by volume but gave no per-country figures to verify. This WITS/UN Comtrade calendar-2023 pull is the primary-tier, numerically verifiable source used elsewhere on this site — and it tells a materially different story: Bangladesh, Vietnam, Nepal, Iran and UAE are India's largest soybean-meal markets by a wide margin, while Germany's calendar-2023 figure is negligible (well under 0.001% of India's total). This does not necessarily contradict the SOPA claim — SOPA's OMY2024-25 (Oct 2024-Sep 2025) marketing-year figure is a different period and may reflect a single large shipment year, and EU country-level trade data is also sometimes recorded against the port-of-entry country (e.g. Rotterdam/Hamburg as EU gateway) rather than final destination, which can understate a smaller buyer's WITS-recorded total. The blog post has been rewritten to state both figures honestly and explain the discrepancy rather than presenting Germany as a guaranteed top-5 volume market — non-GMO origin, not bulk volume ranking, is the real reason a German buyer would choose India regardless of the aggregate figures above.
Indian sourcing regions
Madhya Pradesh is India's soybean heartland (often called the country's soya bowl), with Maharashtra and Rajasthan the next largest producing states. Solvent-extraction plants cluster around Indore, Ujjain, Nagpur and Kota. Harvest is October–November, and crushing runs through the year from stored beans.

Soybean Meal export FAQs
Yes — India does not permit commercial cultivation of genetically modified soybean, so Indian soybean meal is conventional/non-GMO by origin. This is the primary reason European feed buyers source from India despite generally higher prices than Brazilian, Argentine or US meal.
46% and 48% minimum crude protein are the standard export grades. 48% commands a premium. Specify the minimum you need on a dry or as-is basis and we'll quote against it.
In Indian trade usage they're the same product — de-oiled cake (DOC) is what remains after solvent extraction removes the oil. 'Soybean meal' is the more common international term.
Around 24–26 MT bagged in a 20ft and 26–28 MT in a 40ft. Loading is weight-limited, so a 20ft is often the practical unit for bagged cargo.
Yes — 1 MT jumbo bags (FIBC) are common for feed mills, and bulk vessel loading can be arranged for large contracts. Tell us your handling setup at destination.
Indian soybean yields are lower and domestic crush demand is strong, so Indian meal often prices above US, Brazilian and Argentine origins. Buyers who choose India are usually doing so for the non-GMO status or for freight advantage into South Asia, East Africa and parts of the Middle East.
