Fresh Vegetable Exporter from India
Red onion, potato, garlic, green chilli, drumstick and okra — graded, mesh- or carton-packed for Asian, Gulf and European buyers.
Quick answer: Green Plus EXIM exports Indian fresh vegetables including red onion (Nashik red), potato, garlic, green chilli, drumstick, okra, tomato and ginger. Vegetables are size-graded to your specification and packed in mesh bags, ventilated cartons or crates depending on the product. Note that Indian export policy on some vegetables — onion in particular — changes frequently, so terms are confirmed at time of order.
Indian fresh vegetables for export
India's vegetable export trade splits into two quite different businesses. The first is volume commodity trade — onion above all, plus potato and garlic — moving in mesh bags to Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and the Gulf, where price and reliability of supply decide the order. The second is specialty produce — drumstick (moringa), okra, green chilli, curry leaf and similar — shipping smaller volumes at higher value, largely into markets with significant South Asian diaspora demand.
We handle both. What differs is the packing, the cold-chain requirement and how tightly you need to specify grade.
Export policy is a live consideration on vegetables
This matters more for Indian vegetables than for most product categories we handle. The Indian government actively manages exports of staple vegetables — onion especially — to protect domestic supply and consumer prices, using minimum export prices, export duties and, at times, outright bans.
We track the current position and confirm applicable terms when your order is placed. What we won't do is quote you a fixed price months ahead as though policy were settled. If you're planning a recurring vegetable programme, build that variability into your plan and talk to us about structuring around it. See our red onion page for a fuller explanation of how this works in practice.
Packing and airflow
The single most common cause of vegetable shipments arriving in poor condition is packaging that traps moisture. Onion, potato and garlic need airflow — mesh or net bags, ventilated containers, and properly cured stock going in. Sealed or over-tight packing causes rot regardless of transit time. For delicate items, ventilated cartons with the right reefer setting do the equivalent job.
Specify grade explicitly
"Export quality" means nothing as a specification. For onion, specify size band (40–60mm, 50–70mm, 60–80mm). For potato, specify size and variety. For chilli, specify length, colour and pungency expectations. Vague specifications are the root of most quality disputes, and they're avoidable in a single email at the enquiry stage.

Fresh Vegetables export FAQs
Onion is by far the largest by volume and value, shipping to Bangladesh, Malaysia, the Gulf and Sri Lanka. Drumstick (moringa), okra and green chilli have strong niche demand in the Gulf and Europe, often driven by South Asian diaspora communities.
Yes — and onion is the clearest example. India has used minimum export prices, export duties and outright bans on onion to manage domestic supply. We confirm applicable conditions at the time of your order rather than quoting fixed terms in advance.
It depends on the product. Onion, potato and garlic ship in ventilated containers where airflow matters more than active cooling. Perishable items like okra, drumstick and green chilli ship in reefers at product-specific temperatures.
Mesh/net bags (5–25kg) for onion, potato and garlic, since airflow prevents rot; ventilated cartons and crates for more delicate items like okra and drumstick.
For dense products like onion and potato, roughly 26–28 MT — loading is weight-limited. For lighter, carton-packed items the container fills by volume first, so tonnage is lower.
