Organic Cow Manure Exporter from India
Composted and sun-dried cow manure — powder, granule or cake form — bagged for horticulture, plantation and soil-improvement buyers.
Quick answer: Green Plus EXIM exports Indian organic cow manure (cow dung) as composted powder, granules or cakes — sun-dried, screened and bagged in 5–50kg bags or jumbo bags. It ships under HS 3101, the heading for animal or vegetable fertilizers. Italy, France and the USA are among the reported destination markets. We describe it as organic manure by product type.
Indian organic cow manure for export
Cow manure exports from India serve two quite different buyer types: horticulture and garden-retail programmes in Europe and North America looking for a natural soil-improvement input, and plantation agriculture in the Gulf, Maldives and Southeast Asia where soil organic matter is the limiting factor.
We supply composted, sun-dried and screened material in powder, granule and cake form, sourced from dairy belts in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.
On the word "organic"
We use "organic manure" and "organic fertilizer" to describe what the product is — an animal-origin, non-synthetic soil input. If your market requires product certified under a specific organic scheme, tell us at the enquiry stage so we can confirm what we can supply.
If your buyer or your market requires product certified under a specific organic standard, say so at the enquiry stage. We'd rather tell you honestly at the start than have a shipment rejected at your end.
Check your import rules before ordering
Animal-origin fertilizers face tighter import controls than most agricultural goods. Many countries require a prior import permit, specific heat-treatment or composting declarations, or a phytosanitary certificate with additional declarations attached. This varies enormously — some markets are straightforward, others effectively closed without a permit.

What should I specify?
- Form — powder, granule or cake. This affects handling, spreading and container loading.
- Moisture maximum — 15–25% is the typical range. Lower moisture means more usable material per tonne shipped.
- Screening mesh — 2mm, 4mm or your own requirement, to remove stones, straw and debris.
- Packing — bulk jumbo bags for agricultural use, or retail-format bags with your artwork for garden-centre programmes.
Which markets buy Indian cow manure?
The available trade data for HS 3101 reports Italy, France and the United States among destination markets, with the Maldives, Singapore, Nepal and Gulf markets (for plantation use) also named in secondary sources. The table below shows what we could verify — and we'd flag that this dataset is lower-confidence than others on this site, which the source note explains rather than glossing over.
Cow manure export pricing
Pricing depends mainly on form, moisture specification, screening and packing format — retail-format bagging costs materially more than bulk jumbo bags. Freight is a large share of landed cost on a low-value-density product like this, so destination port matters. Send your requirement for a current FOB or CIF quote.

Notes on this data
Replaces an earlier lower-confidence 3-row dataset sourced from private trade-data aggregators (SeAir/ExportImportData.in), which did not independently verify against a primary database. WITS/UN Comtrade is the same primary-tier source already used for the site's other 20+ trade-data files (see research/unverified.md, Phase 2b methodology note). HS 310100 covers 'animal or vegetable fertilizers' broadly, not cow-manure specifically — India exported to 99 countries/regions in 2023 totaling USD 16,587,350 and 22,892,600 kg; the 10 rows above are the top destinations by value. Earlier secondary-source figures for Italy/France/USA (from the previous dataset) are not corroborated in this WITS pull and have been dropped rather than merged, to avoid mixing sourcing tiers in one table. The United States appears in both datasets (this one: USD 2.60M, 2023) though the exact figures differ, consistent with different data years/methodologies rather than a contradiction.
Indian sourcing regions
Sourced from dairy belts across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, where cattle density supports consistent collection volumes. Material is composted, sun-dried and screened at processing units before bagging.
Export documentation
Export documentation prepared to match destination-country and buyer requirements — phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin, fumigation certificate, lab test reports and more, as applicable.
- Phytosanitary certificate (commonly required — this is an animal-origin soil input)
- Certificate of origin
- Fumigation certificate (where required by destination)
- Certificate of analysis — NPK, organic carbon, moisture, pH
- Import permit from the destination country (often required for animal-origin fertilizer — check before ordering)
- Commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading
Share your compliance checklist and we will confirm the documentation for your shipment. Third-party inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or your nominated agency) can be arranged on request.

Organic Cow Manure export FAQs
We describe this product as organic manure by product type (animal-origin, non-synthetic soil input). If your market requires product certified under a specific scheme, tell us early and we will confirm what we can supply for your order.
Composted powder, granules or cakes/pellets, sun-dried and screened. Powder and granules are the common export forms because they're easier to handle, spread and store; cakes are usually a regional/traditional-use request.
Typically around 0.5–1.5% N, 0.4–0.8% P and 0.5–1.2% K, with 12–18% organic carbon. These are natural-material ranges, not a formulated product — actual analysis varies by batch, and we can supply a certificate of analysis per lot.
Very often, yes. Animal-origin fertilizers are more tightly regulated than plant-origin inputs in most markets, and some countries require a prior import permit or specific treatment declarations. Check with your national plant-protection or agriculture authority before ordering, and share the requirements with us so documentation matches.
Roughly 18–22 MT in a 20ft and 24–26 MT in a 40ft, depending on form and moisture content — higher moisture means you're shipping more water and less usable material, which is why the moisture spec is worth agreeing.
Yes — retail bags (5kg, 10kg, 20kg) with buyer artwork are available for garden-centre and horticulture programmes. See private label and bulk supply.
One 20ft container. Trial quantities can be discussed for a first order.
