Animal Feed Ingredient Exporter from India
Soybean meal, DORB, oilcakes, DDGS and fish meal — protein-specified, bagged, jumbo-bagged or bulk.
Quick answer: Green Plus EXIM exports Indian animal feed ingredients including soybean meal (46–48% protein, non-GMO by origin), de-oiled rice bran (DORB), groundnut cake, rapeseed/mustard meal, cottonseed cake, maize DDGS and fish meal. Note that India's DORB export ban was lifted in October 2025, reopening that line. Packed in 25–50kg bags, 1 MT jumbo bags or bulk.
Indian feed ingredients for export
India supplies feed ingredients into two distinct demand patterns: protein meals moving to European non-GMO feed programmes, and energy/protein by-products moving into South Asian, East African and Southeast Asian feed mills where freight economics from India beat South American origins.
We handle soybean meal, de-oiled rice bran (DORB), groundnut cake, rapeseed/mustard meal, cottonseed cake, maize DDGS and fish meal.
DORB exports have reopened
Worth flagging for anyone who looked at Indian de-oiled rice bran previously and found it unavailable: India prohibited DORB exports to protect domestic cattle-feed supply, and that prohibition was lifted in October 2025. If you're reading historical trade statistics for DORB, the low figures reflect the ban, not a lack of demand or supply capacity.
Why buyers choose Indian feed ingredients
- Non-GMO origin. India doesn't permit GM soybean cultivation, so Indian soybean meal is conventional by origin — structurally valuable for European non-GMO-labelled supply chains in a way price competition can't replicate.
- Freight advantage. Into Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, East Africa and the Gulf, Indian origin usually lands cheaper than South American product even when FOB prices are higher.
- Range. Because India crushes a wide variety of oilseeds, buyers can source several meal types from one supplier relationship rather than splitting across origins.
Specifying feed ingredients
Feed buyers generally know their specs better than most buyer categories, but for completeness the parameters we quote against are: crude protein minimum, moisture maximum, crude fibre, crude fat/oil, sand/silica maximum (the adulteration parameter to watch on cheap offers), and urease activity for soybean meal (which indicates whether heat treatment during processing was correct). Aflatoxin testing is available on request and advisable for oilcakes and maize-derived products.
Packing and loading
Bagged feed ingredients load to roughly 24–26 MT in a 20ft container — weight-limited, so a 20ft is often the efficient unit. Jumbo bags (1 MT FIBC) suit mills with bulk intake, and bulk vessel loading can be arranged for large contracts. Use our loading calculator for a planning estimate.

Animal Feed export FAQs
Yes — India does not permit commercial cultivation of genetically modified soybean, so Indian soybean meal is conventional by origin. That's the main reason European feed buyers source from India despite generally higher prices than South American origins.
Yes. India had prohibited DORB exports to protect domestic cattle-feed supply, but that ban was lifted in October 2025. Because of the ban period, historical trade figures for DORB understate real demand — they reflect the restriction, not the market.
Soybean meal is typically 46% or 48% minimum crude protein. Other ingredients vary widely — groundnut cake around 40–45%, mustard meal around 35–38%, fish meal 55–65%. Specify the minimum you need on a stated basis (dry or as-is).
25kg, 40kg and 50kg PP bags for general handling; 1 MT jumbo bags (FIBC) for mills with bulk intake; bulk vessel loading for large contracts. Tell us your intake handling setup and we'll recommend.
Yes, on request — and it's worth doing on any feed ingredient where your market or your own quality system sets limits. Oilcakes and maize products are the ones to watch most closely.
In Indian trade usage they're the same thing — de-oiled cake (DOC) is what remains after solvent extraction removes the oil. 'Soybean meal' is the more common international term.
