Payment Terms
Three payment structures we work with, and how to decide which fits your order.
Letter of Credit (LC)
An LC is issued by your bank and guarantees payment to us once we present the agreed shipping documents. It's the most secure option for both sides on larger or first-time orders, since payment is conditional on document compliance rather than trust alone. We typically work with an irrevocable LC at sight; usance terms can be discussed for established relationships.
Advance payment / Cash Against Documents (CAD)
A deposit is paid to confirm the order, with the balance paid against shipping documents (often through the buyer's and our banks, document-for-payment). The advance percentage and document-release terms are agreed per order — this is common for trial orders and repeat buyers with an established relationship.
Telegraphic Transfer (TT)
A direct bank transfer. Terms vary — some orders use TT in advance for smaller trial quantities; others use a split (partial advance, balance before or after shipment) once trust is established between both parties.
Which should I choose?
| Situation | Typically suits |
|---|---|
| First order, larger value | LC |
| Trial order, smaller value | TT or CAD |
| Established, repeat relationship | TT or CAD, sometimes with more flexible splits |
